How to buy crypto without KYC

Most of our clients pay in crypto — fast, global, no questions. But buying the coins usually means KYC: big exchanges want your passport before you touch a satoshi. This guide is the practical route we recommend: where to actually get crypto without identity checks, how not to get scammed on the way, and how to pay so the trail ends there.

Route 1. P2P markets (the main fiat→crypto answer)

Buying with a card or PayPal and zero KYC is only realistic peer-to-peer: you buy from a person, the platform holds the seller's coins in escrow until you confirm payment. No accounts, no passports:

  • Bisq — desktop P2P exchange, the veteran. kycnot.me rates it 99% privacy / 99% trust, “Never KYC”. Bank transfers, Revolut, gift cards, dozens of methods. Needs a security deposit for first trades.
  • RoboSats — Tor-friendly P2P over the Lightning Network, robot avatars instead of accounts. 100% privacy / 97% trust on kycnot.me. Fastest way from zero to sats for small amounts.
  • Peach Bitcoin — mobile P2P app, same escrow model, card/PayPal-friendly.

Route 2. Instant no-KYC swaps (crypto→crypto)

Already hold any coin? Instant exchangers convert without accounts — send A, receive B. The catch is picking honest ones: scores on kycnot.me (directory with “Never KYC” flags and trust ratings) and antiswap.io (exchanger monitoring with an AML-scam blacklist) are your friends. Names that consistently rate well:

  • SideShift — built into Trezor, Edge and Bitcoin.com wallets
  • Godex — fewest freeze complaints in 2026 comparisons
  • FixedFloat — long-standing, Lightning support
  • Infinity Exchanger — Tor-only, no JS needed

Compare rates before swapping — the same pair differs by 1–3% between services: kycnot.me/swap and bestchange.net aggregate live offers.

Red flag: the AML-scam

The most common exchanger fraud of recent years: your swap goes through, then the service “freezes” it citing an AML check and demands documents — or simply keeps the money. AntiSwap estimates every second exchanger on the market pulls this. Rules of survival:

  • check the service on the monitors above before sending anything;
  • prefer “Never KYC”-rated services — they cannot pull the AML card by design;
  • never swap more than you can afford to lose on a first try with a new service.

Break the trail: BTC → XMR

Bought BTC with your card? The purchase is tied to you on-chain. Before paying, swap through Monero — amounts and addresses are hidden there by default:

  1. BTC → XMR via Eigenwallet atomic swaps (no KYC, no custody, 92% trust on kycnot.me) or BasicSwap.
  2. Move XMR to a fresh wallet — even a self-send breaks the visible link.
  3. Pay directly in XMR, or swap XMR → BTC/USDT via a different service than step 1.
